Slink Completes WPD Title!

Sunday 5th February, we awoke to the garden covered in snow. I had been planning on completing Slink's final WPD walk that day anyway, but with heavy snow fall, especially on the route I had planned, it was touch and go as to whether we'd be able to get there to start the walk. Jumping out of bed, I...

Slink Completes 3rd WPD Leg

Lucien and Mina complete WPD Leg 2!

WPD Walk 2We are so proud of Mina and Lucien yet again. They completed their 2nd WPD leg, covering a distance of just over 10 miles along the North Downs Way. We started from Newlands Corner and headed out towards Frances Corner and Dunley Wood. We then followed a path to the bottom of the North Downs Way, picking up The Pilgrims Way at Abinger Roughs and heading back towards Beggars Lane. We climbed a very long steep hill back up to the North Downs Way and followed the route back the way we came turning off where we could so that we did not spend too much time walking a route we had covered in the oposite direction.

We are very proud of them both, they never cease to amaze us with their work ethic and willingness to please us. Luckily today there was no dead bunny incident!

Lucien started off with 14.3KG and finished with 11.8KG, Mina started with 12.5kg and finished with 10.5KG. They used a lot of water as the temperature was quite high today, despite keeping to wooded areas. We stopped every 2 miles for water and had lunch at Beggars Lane at about mile 6. When we got back to Newland's Corner, they were even spoiled by having a celebratory "99" including the flake!
