Lucien arrived home to us on 31/01/2009 a wonderful little boy with great bone and stunning head.

Lucien is a Vampire/Werewolf name that we picked from a film called “Underworld”. Lucien is the alpha werewolf (known as a Lyken) in the film. The name is Latin, meaning “Light”, perfect for a new start in 2009.

Lucien was one of 8 puppies, 5 boys and 3 girls. He is full of bounce and life and is incredibly cheeky, and always up to something! One of Lucien’s nicknames is Spud, and he suits it very well by being a very lazy boy! He does just enough to get by, then spends the rest of the day sleeping. He is so laid back and just what we wanted in a pup. He really has settled in well.

Lucien can be a fussy eater, he loves what he likes but will sniff anything else with  suspicion, but he loves his cocktail sausages and spam! Lucien has many nicknames one of which is Snufflepig as he eats like one and grunts when he sniffs. He talks and runs in his sleep and is a true clown, although we don’t think it is intentional!

Lucien is just the kind of boy we wanted, he has a kind heart and has a wonderful temperament. He loves his hugs on the sofa in the evenings, and loves to sit and watch TV, especially the rugby. He will do anything to please us, but will do it in his own way. He is very much a puppy, but it is only because we have never let him grow up, and with his big sister Mina being the serious one, he has never needed to grow up. Even though he is lazy at home, he is a hard worker and will never quit in harness. He is also a serious showman and can be a goof on the out side of the show ring, as soon as he goes into the ring, he knows how to hold himself and perform.

Lucien has so far had a successful show career. Taking 7 Best Puppy In Breed, and placing MOYA 10th in Top Puppy 2009. He is following this on as an adult gaining multi Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Breed and Working Group placings. MOYA 19th Top Dog 2010 & MOYA 8th Special Beginner 2010. (MOYA = AMCUK's Malamute Of The Year Award)

Lucien is an amazing worker with one of the best work ethics we have seen. He is currently working towards his Working Pack Dog Advanced (WPDA) and Working Team Dog Advanced (WTDA).

In October 2010, Lucien completed his backpacking title (WPD), in November 2010, he completed his weight pull title (WWPD), in February 2011, Lucien completed his weight pull advanced (WWPDA) and his weight pull dog excellence title (WWPDX), in March 2011 Lucien completed his Working Team Dog title (WTD) and in November 2011, Lucien completed the requirments for the WWPDX title for the 2nd time. Lucien has proved himself as a true working dog and we couldn't be more proud of him, all this at just 3 years old!
