Mina is our 2nd dog, her name was chosen after a long discussion and looking through various films and Greek Goddesses to name her after her Dam, but we settled on Mina. Mina is an English name meaning Strong Willed Warrior, which is perfect for a malamute. Mina is a character in “Dracula” and “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, the wife of Jonathan Harker, she is delicate but can really kick butt when she has too.

Mina is the only gray girl in a litter of 4 pups. When we saw her walk through the door we thought WOW!! and fell in love with her immediately, but we were told we had a black and white so spent our visit looking at her sisters. We had a call from Jim the following day to say we now had a choice of either the darkest of the black and whites, or the grey pup. What a decision that was, and we ended up choosing the gray pup

Mina has turned into a confident, well mannered, beautiful young bitch. She is loved by everyone she meets and enjoys any attention she can get. She has now found her voice and speaks on command.. its a shame we can’t get her to shut up on command. She sings for her tea, sings to go outside and sings for singing's sake! She is a happy bubbly girl and is a pleasure to live with. She makes us laugh and takes good care of her little brother Lucien who gets away with murder.

Mina is full of character, and although she can appear serious, when she is relaxed, she can be very funny and on occasion has reverted back to being a puppy. She knows how to get what she wants and has her daddy wrapped around her little finger. She is well mannered and knows where the boudaries are, and being very intelligent, knows how to push them too. She is also a water baby, and loves to swim, learning by jumping in at the deep end, quite literally, when she was just 15 weeks old where she thought she could walk on water and decided to chase some ducks on the canal only to sink like a stone when she stepped off the edge of the bank! It didn't stop her though and a quick shake and she went diving back in again.

Mina is a hard worker, whether it be in harness, with a backpack on or in the show ring. She loves to run in harness, and sledding or dry land sledding is very much her favourite activity. She especially likes corners and tight twisty circuits, if she can't see around a corner she will sprint as fast as she can to get around it then settle back into a steady pace once on the straight. In October 2010, Mina completed her backpacking title (WPD), in January 2011, Mina completes her Weight Pull Dog (WWPD) title and in March 2011, Mina completed her Working Team Dog (WTD) title.

Mina has had a fantastic start to her show career, she has achieved 18th place Top Bitch in MOYA 2009 (Malamute of the Year Award), and 11th MOYA Special Beginners 2009. She is now taking a break from the show ring to give her time to develop and grow into the wonderful and beautiful girl we know she is. Mina also qualified for the world famous CRUFTS 2010.
