Why Are You Crying?

Why are you crying, I am not there.

Look not for me by the favourite chair, I am not there.

See me not at the bed's foot, nor at the door's step, I am not there.

Do not look to the earth's cold hand, it could not hold me, I am not there.

Look to the midnight star, a comet's flash, racing shadows in the field, sun lights dance on water's edge.

Hear me, the rustle of the grass, pine bough sigh, the beat of bird's wings, the rain's quiet tattoo.

Feel me in your heart, for it is there I cannot leave.

Wait for my loving kiss, my paw's soft touch at Rainbow Bridge.

I will meet you there, and we shall dance again, together.

Otto 1982-1995

(Otto Von Fritz)

Otto was Sammy’s best friend when she was growing up a gentle giant he wouldn’t harm a fly. He would always be there to greet the children when they got home from school and on walks would spend his time making sure they didn’t run off, a one point running across a field to herd back 2 children that he thought was Sammy and her sister. Otto lived until his 14th year which is a very long life for a doberman. He is missed greatly and his name comes up in many conversations.

Freddy 1995-2007

Freddy was a beautiful visual violet budgie who arrived when Sammy was just 10 years old. He had a long happy life and adored Sammy completely. Often following her around the house and calling for her when she got home from school Sammy and Freddy were inseparable. Freddy lived for 12 years and died of kidney failure in November 2007. Sometimes when the house is silent, you can hear his chirps and trills. A constant talker he had many little sayings and you would often hear him shout out pretty boy or giss a kiss. The house is so quiet without him. Freddy is buried in a place we go training with Lupo so we still get to “see him” often. Its a beautiful spot on top of a hill but is also covered by trees. We will meet again my handsome boy.

Chum

Chum was my grandparents dog and although Sammy only has vague memories of him as a very young child, he was a wonderful dog and very good friends with Otto and deserves a place here. Sammy’s mum has many fond memories and we are sure she will make a statement fitting to go here.
